NEW INFO: One Dead in House Fire in Neillsville

-One person has been killed in a house fire in Neillsville.

According to the Neillsville Fire Department, they received a report of a fire around 3am this morning. When the department received the call, the entire home was engulfed in flames with the fire venting from the roof and windows. The fire occurred at the corner of 12th and Emery Street here in Neillsville. The fire was extinguished in 20 minutes and a body was discovered in the home. The State Fire Marshall has not released the identity nor even gender of the individual at this time, but an autopsy will be performed.

The department was on scene for nearly 10 hours, returning from the scene around 1:15pm this afternoon. They had no injuries on their part and they received assistance from the Neillsville Police Department, Neillsville Ambulance Service and Clark County Sheriff's Department. Fire Marshals are still investigating the cause of the fire as well as the identity of the individual killed.
