Kenosha County Woman Enters Plea for the Death of Her Cellmate

Tuesday, July 1st, 2025 -- 12:01 PM

(Karen Madden, USA TODAY NETWORK - Wisconsin) A 29-year-old Kenosha County woman pleaded no contest June 30 to killing a woman who was serving a prison sentence for the death of her Marathon County husband.

Taylor L. Sanchez, 29, of Trevor, pleaded no contest to the charge of first-degree intentional homicide in the July 19, 2023, death of Cindy Schulz-Juedes, 68.

No contest means Sanchez wasn't admitting to the crime, but acknowledged there was enough evidence to convict her. Fond du Lac County Circuit Judge Tricia Walker found enough evidence to convict Sanchez in the death of Schulz-Juedes while they were inmates sharing a cell at Taycheedah Correctional Institution.

In June 2022, Marathon County Circuit Judge Michael Moran sentenced Schulz-Juedes to life in prison for the 2006 death of her husband Kenneth Juedes. Schulz-Juedes continued to say she was innocent of the crime until her death.

A 10-day jury trial for Sanchez had been scheduled to begin July 21.
