The Greenwood/Granton Indians are in the Division 7 State Championship Football Game after a 34-26 win over Clayton on Saturday. G-2 used a huge day by Senior Hayden Hinker to advance to the State Championship for the first time since 1996. Hinker had 176 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns to go along with an 85 yard kickoff return after Clayton had tied the score at 14. Hayden's third touchdown run and a Josh Harlander 10 yard fumble return put G-2 up by 20 but Clayton wasn't done. Two socres in the 4th quarter brought the Bears to within 8 but a late interception by Kole Hinker enabled Greenwood/Granton to run out the clock and get the win. Clayton ended up with 6 turnovers in the game. Greenwood/Granton (12-1) will now face Seneca (11-2) in the Division 7 State Championship on Thursday morning at 10 am. You can hear it live on 92.7 FM WPKG. Here's the State Football Championship Pairings for this Thursday and Friday at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
