BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL REGISTRATION

The Neillsville Recreation Department will hold registration for boys and girls in Kindergarten through 8th grades who are interested in playing summer baseball and softball on Friday, April 29th from 7-8 p.m. at the Rec. Dept. offices located at City Hall. If the official hours are inconvenient early registration is very acceptable. Office hours at the Rec. Dept. are from 9:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. Boys and girls just finishing kindergarten will be registering for Dads and Lads (which utilizes a soft T-ball), boys in 1st & 2nd grade will be registering for T-Ball which uses a softer ball with overhand pitching by the coach, boys in grades 3 & 4 will comprise the Little League which is regular baseball, boys in 5th-8th will compete in Big League Baseball. Girls in 1st-4th grade will register for Juniorette softball, girls in grades 5-7 will form an "in town" slowpitch softball league. Any girl 9-14 can also participate in fastpitch softball where Neillsville is represented with a 10, 12, 14 & 16 and under teams who participate in various outside leagues and tournaments. Girls can participate in both slowpitch and fastpitch as the league play does not conflict. Registration fee is $7 for slowpitch softball and $10 for all other leagues. The maximum a family can pay is $30. No previous experience is necessary for any of the leagues and due to special circumstances an individual could play in a lower league if their skills warrant placement. Volunteer coaches are needed in all leagues. Coaches can schedule their practice at their convenience. For more information please call the Rec. Dept. offices at 743-2400.
