UW EAU CLAIRE TO HOST SOFTBALL REGIONAL

University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will be one of eight sites for the 2011 NCAA Division III softball regionals, NCAA officials announced on Friday. The double-elimination regional will include eight teams and take place May 12-16 at Gelein Field in Carson Park. UW-Eau Claire is a veteran of hosting NCAA post-season tournaments, having staged five national tournaments and five regional tournaments since 1997. This marks the fourth time in the last five years that a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) school has been selected to host a NCAA softball regional event. The Blugolds are not guaranteed a spot in this year?s tournament. They will have to either win the WIAC tournament championship, which will be held May 6-8, or receive one of 19 at-large spots in the 60-team field.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
