Opelt Nearing 1,000 Career Point Mark

Neillsville senior Bella Opelt is closing in on a crowning achievement in girls basketball as she is closing in on her 1,000 career point.  After a 12 point performance in a 49-21 win over Loyal on Tuesday night, Bella is now just 36 points away.  

Opelt would be the second Neillsville player to amass the 1,000 point plateau this basketball season.  Senior Braden Trunkel went over the 1,000 point mark earlier.  Jenny Lindner is the all-time leading scorer in Neillsville basketball history with 1,646.  

The Neillsville girls will host Gilman on Friday and are then at Loyal next Monday.
