Friday, July 24th, 2009 -- 6:03 AM
Yesterday, Tyler Obermueller won the Wisconsin State Amateur golf tournament. Today, he plans to turn pro just in time for the Minnesota State Open. The 22-year-old recent University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate from River Falls shot a final-round 77, good enough for a one-stroke victory over Miles McConnell of Fitchburg and Andrew Dekeuster of Franksville at Merrill Hills Country Club. Obermueller finished with a 4-day total of 288, four over par. Jordan Elsen of Kenosha was tied for the lead going into the final round but shot an 80 and wound up fourth.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
