Marshfield Girls Volleyball Team Takes First In Home Tournament

The Marshfield Volleyball Team hosted its 6-Team Invitational today at the Birdies and Bumpers Fieldhouse at Marshfield High School.  Marshfield won the invitational with a match record of 5 wins to 0 losses.  Game scores were:

Marshfield Vs Abbotsford: 25-8, 25-8

Marshfield Vs Antigo: 25-6, 25-10

Marshfield Vs Ladysmith: 25-9, 25-12

Marshfield Vs Shawano Community: 25-16, 25-10

Marshfield Vs Medford: 25-15, 29-27

Statistic Leaders on the day were:

Abigail Cera had an all-around outstanding performance today in the tournament leading Marshfield statistically in aces (10) and kills (37).  She also added 6 blocks and 21 digs defensively.  Other offensive kill leaders were Lily Adler (27), Maria Biederwolf (27), and Oriah Harris (14).  Lily Adler led the Tigers in block kills with 7 as well.  In most of the matches Marshfield operated in a 6-2 offense with their two setters Paige Schlagenhaft and Natalie DeLany.  Natalie led the team with 51 assists and added 8 aces while Paige added 43 assists.  Defensively, Marshfield alternated their two liberos and both put together wonderful performances in Jazzy Kurth with 28 digs and Angela Barnhardt with 22 digs.  Madilynn Cole also did a great job from the service line tallying 7 aces on the day as well.

The Tigers are now 14-3 and continue conference play on Thursday with their next match at Wisconsin Rapids.
