100th Boys State Golf Championships Wrap

VERONA, Wis. – The 100th State Boys Golf Championships crowned team and individual champions in three divisions at University Ridge Golf Course on Tuesday.

Middleton won its sixth State team championship by capturing the Division 1 title in the program’s 26th tournament appearance with a four-player, 36-hole score of 578, the lowest team score in the history of the tournament. Kimberly was the runner-up with a score of 592.

Senior Owen Wagie of Edgerton earned medalist honors by shooting an 8-under-par 136 over 36 holes, tying the lowest score in tournament history. He qualified last season and finished tied for 32nd. Junior Kade Wieland of Milton was runner-up, one stroke back at 137 after placing third a year ago.

After finishing regulation play tied with Edgewood at 620, Winneconne won the Division 2 team championship in a one-hole playoff to capture the Wolves’ first title in their seventh State appearance.

Individually, senior Vince Sigl of Seymour fired a 5-under-par 139 to win medalist honors for the second consecutive year. The four-time qualifier also tied for 16th in 2024 and 28th in 2023. Junior Elliot Skinner of Altoona placed second with a score of 143 after tying for sixth in 2025.

Kohler surged on the second day of the tournament to win the Division 3 team championship with a score of 623, eight strokes better than runner-up Prentice, which posted a 631. It was the fourth team title in nine State appearances for the Blue Bombers. Prentice finished runner-up in its third State appearance.

In Division 3 individual play, sophomore David Van Dixhorn of Kohler earned medalist honors with a 1-over-par 145. Senior Eliah Harding of Prentice was runner-up with a 154 after tying for 22nd last season.
