WIAA State Individual Wrestling - Friday Results/Area Wrestlers In Championship Matches

The 83rd Annual WIAA Individual Wrestling Tournament and the fifth Girls Individual Wrestling Tournament continues today at the Kohl Center in Madison. 

Yesterday:

In Division 1 boys from our area - Haiden Carlson of Marshfield lost his semi-final match to Tucker Athey of Bayport Area 12-8.  Carlson will wrestle for 3rd today.  Easton Ledden of Marshfield lost his consolation quarterfinal on Friday at 150.  At 106, Jackson Freeman of Wisconsin Rapids is wrestling in a consolation semi-final this morning as is Aspen Tritz of Wisconsin Rapids at 144.

In Division 2 boys from our area - at 106, Drey Kren of Regis/Altoona won his semi-final match on Friday. Drey will wrestle for the D2 Championship tonight.  At 120, Coltyn Weiss of Regis/Altoona lost his semi-final he will wrestle for 3rd today.  And Jacob Lootans, Jr. of Regis/Altoona won his semi-final match at 150 and he will wrestle for a State Championship tonight.  NGL’s Jake Luchterhand lost his consolation match on Friday at 175 while Adam Kautzer won his consolation quarterfinal at 132 and will now wrestle in a consolation semi-final this morning.  At 126, Tristen Smazal of Abby/Colby and at 144, Matthew Jakel of Abby/Colby are both wrestling in a consolation semi-final this morning.  At 215, Jakob Soback of Spencer/Columbus/Granton lost his consolation quarterfinal on Friday.

In Division 3 boys from our area - Dakota Kraft from Edgar lost his semi-final at 106 and will wrestle for 3rd today. Ryker Moskiewicz of Cadott is wrestling in a consolation semi-final this morning.  At 113, Taylor Underwood of Marathon won his semi-final match and he will wrestle for a State Championship tonight while Sawyer Kundinger of Auburndale lost his consolation quarterfinal match on Friday.  At 120, Wyatt Anderson lost his consolation match on Friday while Blake Underwood of Marathon won his semi-final and he will wrestle for a State Championship tonight.  At 126, Carson Weiler of Auburndale will wrestle in the consolation semi-final this morning.  At 132, Zade Grassel of Auburndale lost his semi-final match and will now wrestle for 3rd later today while Lucas Forrest of Stratford is wrestling in a consolation semi-final this morning.  At 138 Cale Quaintance of Marathon is wrestling in a consolation semi-final this morning while Colin Cournoyer of Stratford lost his consolation match on Friday.  At 144, Aaron Knetter lost his semi-final match and will now wrestle for 3rd today.  Oliver Sundbrink of Cadott is wrestling in a consolation semi-final this morning while Dax Steinbach of Cornell/Gilman/Lake Holcombe lost his consolation match on Friday.  At 150 Trevor Trowbridge of Auburndale lost his consolation match on Friday.  At 157, Gavin Tritz of Assumption/Pacelli won his semi-final match and will now wrestle for a State Championship tonight.  At 165, Tate Sonnentag of Marathon lost his consolation match on Friday.  At 175, Grant Salber of Marathon and Jacob Phelps of Cadott both lost their consolation matches on Friday.  At 190, Lucas Stahnke of Edgar lost his consolation match on Friday.  At 215, Mitchell Reineke of Cadott is wrestling in a consolation semi-final this morning.  At 215, Owen Lueck of Stratford and Alex Becker of Auburndale both will wrestle in a consolation semi-final this morning.

For the girls in our area - Cassidy O’Connell of Regis/Altoona at 100 lost her semi-final match so she will wrestle for 3rd today.  Izzy Sonnentag of Cadott at 114 lost her semi-final so she will wrestle for 3rd today.  At 120, Tessa York of Cadott will be wrestling in a consolation semi-final this morning. Erika Sleznikow of Marshfield at 138 won her semi-final match and will now wrestle for a State Championship tonight while Azariah Hoffman of Spencer/Columbus/Granton will wrestle in a consolation semi-final this morning.  Riley Hanrahan of BRF at 145 won her semi-final match on Friday and will now wrestle for a State Championship tonight.  At 235, Anna Becker of Spencer/Columbus/Granton lost her consolation quarterfinal on Friday while Lexi Stoflet of Assumption/Pacelli lost her semi-final match on Friday and will now wrestle for 3rd today.
