WIAA Individual State Wrestling Results: Day 1

The 83rd Annual WIAA Individual Wrestling Tournament and the fifth Girls Individual Wrestling Tournament continues today at the Kohl Center in Madison. 

Yesterday:

Area Girls who won their quarterfinal matches include Cassidy O’Connell of Regis/Altoona at 100,  Izzy Sonnentag of Cadott at 114, Erika Sleznikow of Marshfield at 138, Riley Hanrahan of BRF at 145 and Lexi Stoflet of Assumption/Pacelli at 235.  These individuals will wrestle in semi-final matches tonight.

For the boys in Division 1, Haiden Carlson of Marshfield advances to the semi-finals tonight

Area Division 2 boys advancing to the semi-finals include:

106 - Drey Kren - Regis/Altoona

120 - Coltyn Weiss - Regis/Altoona

150 - Jacob Lootans - Regis/Altoona

NGL’s Jake Luchterhand won his first match at 175 on Thursday then lost in the quarterfinals.  He will wrestle again today at around 2:30.  At 132, Adam Kautzer also won his first match and then lost in the quarterfinals.  He will also wrestle today at around 2:30.

Area Division 3 Boys advancing to the semi-finals include:

106 - Dakota Kraft - Edgar

113 - Taylor Underwood - Marathon

120 - Blake Underwood - Marathon

132 - Zade Grassel - Auburndale

144 - Aaron Knetter - Stratford

157 - Gavin Tritz - Assumption/Pacelli

All wrestlers who did not make the semi-finals will wrestle today in consolation matches
