Neillsville Girls Win Cloverbelt Basketball Title

The Neillsville girls basketball team won their 15th game in a row and the Cloverbelt Conference Championship on Saturday when they beat Regis 49-31 at Stanley-Boyd High School. The Warriors got out to a 26-11 halftime lead, led by freshman Eden Marg who had 13 pts. Neillsville (23-1) outscored Regis 23-20 in the second half to secure the win. Marg ended with a game high 22 pts to go along with 11 rebounds. The Ramblers (21-3) were led by EllaMay Cooper who had 13 pts. Neillsville has won 7 straight Eastern Cloverbelt titles and during that span they have also now won 5 Cloverbelt Championships.
In the 2nd Place Crossover playoff game on Saturday, McDonell Central beat Columbus Catholic 57-29. Claire Ruf had a game high 17 pts for the Macks. Elly Gardner led the Dons with 10 pts.
