Kurth Named New Neillsville Baseball Head Coach
Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 -- 9:08 AM
For the first time in over 20 years, the Neillsville varsity baseball team will have a new head coach. Jason Kurth was approved on Monday to become the Warriors head baseball coach, succeeding long time head coach, Dave Matson, who led them for the past 21 years.
Jason is a 2016 graduate of Neillsville High School and has been on the Neillsville coaching staff for the past 7 seasons. Kurth has also played ball for the Marshfield Chapparels the last 8 years.
Jason said he most looks forward to competing with a good group of kids, especially the senior class, and continuing to grow the game that he has loved since he was a kid.
Neillsville/Granton finished 9-3 in second place in the Eastern Cloverbelt last year and 10-8 overall.
