VERONA, Wis. – The 2025 State Boys Golf Championships crowned team and individual champions in three divisions at University Ridge Tuesday.

Marquette won its fourth State team championship by capturing the Division 1 title in the program’s 16th tournament appearance with a four-player, 36-hole score of 584. Hudson was the runner-up with a score of 603.

Junior Peyton Albers of Waunakee and junior Drake Card of Hudson tied at the end of regulation, shooting a 4-under-par score of 140. Albers clinched medalist honors by winning a three-hole playoff. Albers, a three-time State qualifier, finished tied for 10th last season and placed 48th as a freshman in 2023.

Seymour won the Division 2 team championship for the first time in the program’s history, finishing with a four-player, 36-hole total of 638. It was the Lightning’s fourth State Tournament appearance. Cambridge moved up a division to secure the runner-up spot with a score of 653 after placing third in Division 3 a year ago.

Individually, junior Vince Sigl of Seymour and senior Kian Bystol Flores tied for the lead at the end of the final round with a 3-over-par 147. Sigl won the one-hole playoff, firing a par to earn medalist honors. A three-time qualifier, Sigl tied for 16th last year and finished 28th in 2023. Bystol Flores is a four-time qualifier, tying for second place in Division 3 last season after claiming medalist honors in 2023 and placing 13th in 2022.

In Division 3, Durand-Arkansaw emerged as the champion with a team score of 651, 10 strokes better than Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, which posted a 661. It’s the first team title in nine State team appearances for the Panthers. The Bulldogs finished runner-up for the second straight season, which also accounts for their overall number of team appearances.

In Division 3 individual play, senior Tucker Johnson of Neillsville was the medalist with an 8-over-par score of 152 after placing 11th last season and 10th in 2023. Junior Troy Pudenz of Durand-Arkansaw was runner-up by shooting a 154.
