Thorp Cardinals Softball Team Heading Back To State!/Other Sectional Final Results

The Thorp Cardinals are heading back to State in girls softball after beating Northwood/Solon Springs 13-5 on Thursday in a Division 5 Sectional Final.   The Cardinals (18-9) pounded out 15 hits in the win, led by Joslyn Corbin who was 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored.  Amy Kotecki and Lainey Burkhardt each had 2 hits for Thorp who will be making their 9th trip to State overall.  Jasmine Stratton went the distance on the mound, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits.  After allowing 2 runs on 4 hits in the first inning, Jasmine retired 15 in a row before a hit in the 6th and then Northwood/Solon Springs scored 3 in the 7th inning.  She struck out 9 and walked 5 in the win. The Division 5 State Semi-Finals will be next Thursday, June 12th at Goodman Diamond in Madison.
