Marshfield Boys Heading To State/Other Area Sectional Final Results

For the first time since 1994, the Marshfield Tigers boys basketball team is heading to the WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament in Madison.  Marshfield used a 16-0 run between the end of the first half and the start of the second to pull away from Kimberly for a 62-35 win in a WIAA Division 1 sectional final at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School.

Brooks Hinson had a game-high 24 points for Marshfield. He also became the first player in Marshfield basketball history to surpass 1600 career points.  Chris Pohl added 11 points and seven rebounds, and Valen Ramberg finished with 10 points for the Tigers.  

Marshfield (22-6) will now play in a Division 1 semifinal at the WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison this coming Friday night.

In a Division 4 Sectional Final at Stevens Point, Auburndale saw their season come to end as they lost to Bonduel 56-44.  Thomas Aue led the Eagles with 16 points.  Josh Lundgren added 15.  Auburndale finishes the season with a 24-4 record.
