WIAA Task Force Modifies 11-Player Football Realignment Plans

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Conference Realignment Task Force convened last Thursday to hear appeals of the previously modified solutions and finalize plans for 11-player football conference realignment. 

Based on the information shared during the appeals of the modified solutions, the Task Force amended the 11-player football  conference realignment plans to be effective in 2026. There were no changes to the 8-player football plan. The details of the amended plans and the complete configuration of conference affiliation recommendations for football are available for review by accessing the “Requests and Proposals” option on the WIAA’s Conference Realignment web page.

Representatives from schools affected by the Task Force’s modifications to the plans on Feb. 6 may appeal in-person to the Board of Control prior to the final vote at its March 11 meeting. At that time, the Board has the options to approve the plans as presented, reject the plans or remand all or parts of the plan back to the Task Force for further consideration.
