Girls Golf

The Marshfield girls golf team won their first ever Wisconsin Valley Conference championship on Tuesday at the Marshfield Country Club.   In the seventh and final Wisconsin Valley Conference meet of the season, the Tigers finished with a team score of 183 to edge Wausau East/West by a stroke and claimed first place.  Marshfield’s Lexxi Oertel shot a 38 to win medalist honors. Wausau East/West’s Talia Schlindwein finished second and she also secured  her second-straight individual overall conference title.  Marshfield won six of the seven conference meets this season.  Oertel, Brielle Lenz and McKenzie Holm all earned 1st Team All-Conference.  Marshfield will compete at a WIAA Division 1 regional next  Wednesday, Oct. 2, at The Golf Club at Cedar Creek in Onalaska.
