Thorp And Auburndale Among Area Softball Teams Heading To State

The Thorp Cardinal softball team punched their ticket to State after an 11-8 Sectional Final win over Mellen on Thursday.  Thorp will be making their 8th trip to the State Girls Softball Tournament and first since 2022.  They will play either next Thursday night at 8:30 pm or Friday morning at 8 am.  

The Auburndale girls softball team is heading to State for the first time in their history after beating Eleva-Strum 2-0 in the Sectional Final on Thursday. Auburndale will play in a Division 4 State Semi-Final on Thursday either at 4:30 pm or 6:30 pm.

Other Sectional Final results and area teams advancing to State:

Pacelli 10, Newman Catholic 0 (6) - 12th trip to State

Assumption 10, Hillsboro 0 (6) - 8th trip to State

Fall Creek 1, Grantsburg 0  (12) - makes their 1st trip to State in girls softball

Mosinee 1, Rice Lake 0 - they will be making their 3rd trip to State
