Columbus Catholic Boys Win Division 5 State Championship!

The Columbus Catholic boys basketball team completed a great season with a Division 5 State Championship on Saturday at the Kohl Center in Madison. The Dons beat Abundant Life Christian 81-75 for their first WIAA State Boys Basketball Title. The Dons finished the season with a 29-2 record. Columbus Catholic broke their own single game three point record with 14 three-pointers made in the Championship game. Emmitt Konieczny, made five three-point shots and all 10 of his foul shots en route to scoring a game-best 31 points. The Dons were 38-of-41 combined total from the free throw line in their two State contests to set a D5 record for best free throw percentage at 93 percent.

In Division 4 it was Mineral Point getting by Kenosha St. Joseph's 65 to 64.
In Division 3, Saint Thomas More defeated Lakeside Lutheran 65 to 54.
In Division 2, it was Wisconsin Lutheran big over Pewaukee 83 to 62.
In Division 1, Marquette University High School defeated Arrowhead 84 to 62.
