Mitchell & Buchanan Qualify For NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Championships

Sam Mitchell of Marshfield, wrestling for the Buffalo University, finished 2nd at 197 pounds in the MAC Championships over the weekend.  Sam lost the conference championship match to Benjamin Smith of Cleveland State 8-3.  Sam then beat Blake Schaffer of Kent State 5-2 to earn a berth in the NCAA Division I championships at Kansas City March 21-23.

Stephen Buchanan of Loyal, wrestling for Oklahoma, finished 3rd at 197 pounds in the Big 12 Championships over the weekend.  Stephen beat Joseph Novak of Wyoming in the third place match 6-4, to improve his record to 21-2.  Stephen also qualified for the NCAA Division I championships at Kansas City.
