Neillsville Optimist Club Tri-Star Basketball Results

The Optimist Club of Neillsville conducted their annual Tri-Star Basketball competition for  boys and girls ages 8-13 on Friday, March 11th at the Neillsville Fieldhouse. 62 children  participated with the top winners in each age category as follows:

8 Year Olds:

Boys:  1st - Jameson Bennett, 2nd -Ashton Brown, 3rd - Gerald Gaier, 4th - Cashton Smith, 5th - Christopher Pyka, 6th - Kaid Klimpke, 7th - Gabe Rudolph

Girls:  1st -  Nora Laufenberg, 2nd - Harlynn Erickson, 3rd - Alivia Luchterhand

9 Year Olds:

Boys:  1st - Matthew Kopp, 2nd - River Davel, 3rd - Hayden Poeschel, 4th - Aiden Luchterhand, 5th - Myles Waltemate, 6th - Jaiveon Luckett, 7th - Gabe Carteron

Girls:  1st - Olive Bennett, 2nd - Sydney Johnson, 3rd - Everly Brunette, Sophie Heck

10 Year Olds: 

Boys:  1st - Corbin Wirkuty, 2nd - Tripp Laufenberg, 3rd - Black Knudsen, 4th - Gordy Gaier, 5th - Tristan Phipps, 6th - Draven Phelps

Girls:  1st - Tyra Wuethrich, 2nd - Addy Brown, Harper Opelt, 3rd - Harper Ruzic, 4th - Grace Hagmann, 5th - Payton Zank, 6th - Emma Spencer

11 Year Olds:

Boys:  1st - Evin Dittner

Girls:  1st - Adreian Waltemate, 2nd - MacKenzie Smith, 3rd - Kenzie Klimpke, 4th - Brielle Erickson, 5th - Emersyn Brunette

12 Year Olds:

Boys:  1st - Kalvin Heck

Girls:  1st - Hadley Hare, 2nd - Lexi Opelt, 3rd - Kallie Laubenstein

13 Year Olds:

Boys:  1st - Trevor Hart,  2nd - Paxton Janicki, 3rd - Kyson Erickson

Girls:  1st - Tinley Wuethrich

Also competing and earning medals were these pre-eligible athletes: Ainsley Brown, Grady  Gaier, Charley Kowalczyk, Draelynn Fitzl, Zoey Langreck, Maxtyn Statz, Drake Poeschel,  Ellawyn Brunette, Paisley Johnson, Reagan Davel, Evan Buchholz, Brysen Soderberg, Ethan  Wirkuty, and Charlie Stehli.  

The event included competition in passing, dribbling and shooting skills. Each first-place  winner received a plaque, while all other participants received medals. The winners will have the  opportunity to participate in the State Tri-Star competition held in Fond du Lac on April 13th.
