Hagen Stepping Down As Colby Head Football Coach

Colby High School will have a new head football coach next season. 

Jim Hagen is stepping down as Hornets head coach, although he will continue to serve as Colby's Athletic Director. 

Hagen has coached football at Colby for 33 years, mostly assisting former head Jeff Rosemeyer.  He worked on Rosemeyer's staff when Colby won state championships in 1998, 2008 and 2011. 

Hagen then succeeded Rosemeyer as head coach in 2017, and coached the Hornets for seven seasons, compiling a record of 57-17, and earning a WIAA state championship in 2021.
