Neillsville 9U Boys Basketball Team Takes Championship In Appleton/Neillsville 17U Also Competes

The Neillsville 9U boys basketball team, comprised of boys entering 4th grade, won the championship at the 17th Annual Jimmy V Classic at the Community First Champion Center in Appleton over the weekend.  

Neillsville lost to Wisconsin Swing-Golden 40-20 in their first game on Saturday, but then came back to beat DePere 35-14.   On Sunday, Neillsville beat Wisconsin Swing - 9U Stangel 28-21 then beat that same team in the championship game 35-15.

The Neillsville 17U team, comprised of the varsity basketball team, finished 1-3 on the weekend.  They were beaten by Wisconsin Swing 17U- Odegaard 46-36 in their first game on Saturday.   They received a forfeit win when All Wisconsin 17U Simpson failed to show up.  In their final game on Saturday, the Warriors were beaten by a very talented JustaGame Select team 51-33.  On Sunday, Neillsville faced another fine team in The Lac, a team out of Fond du Lac.  The Warriors were beaten 67-44.  The Lac went on to win the championship in 17U.
