Neillsville Baseball Team's Season Ends At Mondovi/Other Area Scores

The Neillsville baseball team saw their season come to end in a Division 3 Regional Semi-Final at Mondovi on Tuesday, losing 6-4 to the Buffaloes.

Neillsville fell behind early as Mondovi scored 3 runs in the first inning and 2 more in the 2nd for a 5-0 lead, but then Sam Hayes shut down the Buffaloes for the next 3 innings to allow the Warriors to claw back into it.  Neillsville would get two runs on 2 hits by Bryce Erickson and Gunnar Barth in the 4th inning and 2 more in the 6th on a 2 RBI single by Hayes that scored Wesley Swita and Andrew Hoeser to make it 5-4.  Mondovi would get one more in the bottom of the 6th and then shut out the Warriors in their half of the 7th for the 6-4 win.  

Hayes, Erickson and Barth all had 2 hits to lead the Warrior offense.  Hayes also had 3 RBI's.  Hayes took the loss on the mound, going 4 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, striking out 7 and walking one.  

Neillsville ends their season at 14-6 and return all their starters next season.
