Neillsville Baseball Falls To Columbus Catholic

The Neillsville baseball team lost their first Eastern Cloverbelt game of the season on Wednesday, falling to Columbus Catholic 7-1.
The Warriors struggled to get anything going on offense as they were limited to just 3 hits by the Don's pitching staff. Blake Jakobi pitched the first 5 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits, striking out 4 and walking one. Emmitt Konieczny came on in the last 2 innings allowing no runs or hits while striking out 1.
Columbus Catholic scored 1 run int he 4th, 2 in the 5th and 4 more in the 6th. E. Konieczny led the offensive attack going 3 for 4 with a run scored. Nathan Nemitz collected two hits and Grant Olson had 2 RBI's for the Dons.
Neillsville falls to 9-1 in the ECC and 11-2 overall. Columbus Catholic improves to 5-2 in the conference and 6-6 overall.
