Neillsville Improves to 8-0 In ECC/Other Area Scores

The Neillsville baseball team improved to 8-0 in the Eastern Cloverbelt and 10-1 overall with a 5-3 win over Columbus Catholic on Monday at Henry Lukes Baseball Field in Neillsville.  

The Warriors scored 3 runs in the first inning and one each in the 5th and 6th innings.  The Warriors totaled 8 hits led by Bryce Erickson who had 3 hits and Gunner Barth who had 2.  Freshman, Andrew Hoeser picked up his 4th win of the season going 6 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 run while striking out 10 and walking none.  Freshman Mac Konieczny took the loss for Columbus Catholic (4-6, 3-2) going 4 innings allowing 7 hits and 4 runs while striking out five.  Emmitt Konieczny and Grant Olson each had 2 hits for the Dons.

The two teams will play again on Wednesday at 5 pm at Jack Hackman Field in Marshfield.
