Neillsville Baseball Pounds McDonell Central In 5/Other Area Scores

In high school baseball on Tuesday at Neillsville, McDonell Central (0-1) took a 1-0 lead after the first inning, but then it was all Neillsville (2-1) after that. The Warriors would get 4 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to take a 4-1 lead. McDonell Central got another run in the top of the 3rd and then they would load the bases before pitcher Sam Hayes got out of the jam with a strike out and a ground out to end the threat.
Then came the bottom of the 3rd. Neillsville would send 14 batters to the plate, load the bases 3 times and after the inning finally ended, the Warriors had scored 9 runs on 5 hits to take a commanding 13-2 lead. Neillsville would score 4 more runs in the bottom of the 4th and Andrew Hoeser then struck out three batters in row to end the 5th inning for McDonell making the final score 17-2.
The Warriors pounded out 11 hits in the game, led by Bryce Erickson who was 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and a run scored. Hoeser was 2 for 3 from the plate with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Micah Zoschke and Hayes each had 3 runs scored.
