Cycle-ball: Indoor Soccer While Riding A Bike
Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 -- 9:32 AM
Teams of two play seven-minute halves on a field/court roughly one-third the size of a basketball court, with 6.5-foot square goals on either end.
- Bikes are specially designed with no gears or brakes. The handlebars allow for maximum mobility of the front wheel, which players use to dribble and shoot.
- Your feet can't touch the ground or the ball, and only the goalie can use their hands when inside the crease. Headers are allowed, though.
State of play: Germans have long dominated internationally, winning the inaugural World Cup in 1930 and 34 total championships. Austria is on the rise, though, winning eight of the last 11 world titles, including the 2022 edition.
