The Optimist Club of Neillsville conducted their annual Tri-Star Basketball competition for boys and girls ages 8-13 on Friday, February 17th at the Neillsville Fieldhouse. Over 75 children participated with the top winners in each age category...

Also competing and earning medals were these pre-eligible athletes: Reagan Davel, Charley Kowalczk, Zoey Langreck, Zee Calkins, Kaid Klimpke, Ethan Wirkuty, Bryson Soderberg, Evan Buchholz, Maria Backaus, Harlynn Erickson, Arie Lewis, Ashton Brown, Kayden Simpson, Reid Ehlen, Jameson Bennett, Maxon Cody, Collen Slemec, & Cashton Smith. 

The event included competition in passing, dribbling and shooting skills. Each first place winner received a plaque, while all other participants received medals. The winners will have the opportunity to participate in the state Tri-Star competition held in Fond du Lac on April 1st.
