Neillsville Girls Top Assumption/Other Area Scores

In a battle of top 10 teams on Thursday night, the Neillsville girls basketball team came out on top in a defensive game with Assumption, 35-22.  

Neillsville came into the game ranked 8th in Division 4, while Assumption was ranked 2nd in Division 5.  

Defense was the name of the game in the first half with the score tied at 15.  The second half saw both teams again applying defensive pressure, but Neillsville was able to get their shots to fall and outscored the Royals 20-7 to pull away for the win.  

Neillsville's Paris Opelt led all scorers with a game high 16 points.  Mia Trunkel added 10 for the Warriors, who improved to 11-0.  Anna Schooley led Assumption with 8 points.  The Royals fall to 9-1.
