Area Cross Country Runners Compete at State Meet

Several area teams and individuals competed at the WIAA State Boys and Girls Cross Country Meet on Saturday at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids....

BOYS DIVISION 2: 

In a field of 152 runners, Tanner Hraby, Medford was 24th. 

 

BOYS DIVISION 3: 

In a field of 151 runners, Phillips as a team finished 4th. For Phillips, Gavin Esterholm finished 41st, Maverick Hoogland finished 42nd, Connor Gabay was 68th, and James Vollendorf was 74th. 

Athens as a team finished 13th. For Athens, Connor Sheahan finished 5th, Nathan Wolf was 59th, Andrew Schaer was 77th, and Riley Schultz-Becker was 119th.  

Individual finishers:

Isaac Scheer, Columbus Catholic finished 21st.

Peter Weir, Cadott finished 27th.

Derek Grossman, Pittsville finished 64th.

Connor Genteman, Loyal/Greenwood finished 67th.

Cree DeFoe, Stratford finished 73rd.

Jaron Gage, Marathon finished 85th.

 

GIRLS DIVISION 1: 

In a field of 186 runners, Natalie Scharenbroch, Marshfield finished 40th.

 

GIRLS DIVISION 2: 

In a field of 152 runners, Medford as a team was 7th. For Medford, Meredith Richter finished 14th, Bjorg Risa finished 61st, Ella Daniels finished 80th, and Brooke Rudolph finished 93rd.

As an individual Britt Fitzgerald, Mosinee finished 42nd.

 

GIRLS DIVISION 3: 

In a field of 149 runners, Assumption finished 10th as a team. For Assumption, Lucy Dolan finished 4th, Baylee Hartjes finished 75th, Brooklyn Schoenick finished 82nd, and Grace Dolan finished 93rd.

Phillips finished 12th as a team. For Phillips, Meredith Merlak finished 38th, Sarah Knaack finished 87th, Maya Nieto finished 103rd, and Leah Harper finished 106th. 

Colby finished 13th as a team. For Colby, MaKenna Herrmann finished 41st, Willow Oehmichen finished 62nd, Casey Reynolds finished 108th and Annamarie Schmitt finished 121st.

Chequamegon finished 15th as a team. For Chquamegon, Autumn Michalski finished 3rd, Claudia Lasiowski finished 27th, Clare Yunk finished 125th and Abigail Humphrey finished 136th. 

Individuals finishers include:

Shaylie Zarza, Thorp/Gilman finished 18th.

Jenna Anders, Fall Creek 59th.

Kylie Orysen, Rib Lake/Prentice finished 61st.

Morgan Schnelle, Edgar finished 77th. 

Megan Johnston of Fall Creek 83rd.
