Two Rafters Receiving ‘Big Stick’ Awards From Rawlings

Two members of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are receiving ‘Big Stick’ awards from Rawlings for being the top hitters at their positions in the Northwoods League this season. 

Rafters catcher Colin Tuft, who plays college baseball at Virginia, led all Northwoods League catchers in hitting, with a .331 average.  Tuft is entering his sophomore season at Virginia, and could return to the Rafters in 2023.

And, Rafters shortstop Ben Ross, who plays for Notre Dame of Ohio, led the entire Northwoods League in hitting, with a .421 average. Ross was selected by Minnesota in this year’s baseball amateur draft, and played in 24 games in the Twins’ farm system, batting a combined .241 with three home runs and 13 rbis.
