Northwoods League Baseball Heads Into Final Week Of Regular Season

As the last week of Northwoods League Games begins, the Wausau Woodchucks won both of their games yesterday against Lakeshore to sweep their double header, winning game one 4-3 and 3-1 in game two. The Woodchucks now have a six game win streak and are behind the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in the Great Lakes West. The Rafters, meanwhile downed Fond du Lac 7-6 on Monday and have now won eight of their last ten games to lead the league with 24 wins. Also last night:
La Crosse 12, Willmar 9
Eau Claire 12, Duluth 5 - Eau Claire wrapped up the Great Plains East title with five games remaining in the regular season. The Express will face Duluth, the first half division champion, in a best-of-3 games first round series in the Northwoods League playoffs beginning Sunday. Duluth will host the first game, then the series will shift to Carson Park for the remainder of the series.
