Bernhagen Takes Checkered Flag At Dells Raceway Park

Dells Raceway Park defending Pro Late Model Champion Jesse Bernhagen of Willard scored his first feature win in the 2022 season at Dells Raceway Park in the Kalahari Resorts and Convention Center 50 lap A-main. 

Brandon Laing and Scott Luck brought a stout field of of Gandrud Performance Parts Pro Late Models to the green flag. Luck would power to the lead early as the field raced hard behind him.Mahlon Borntreger would be the first to challenge Luck for the lead and would take the spot. Jesse Bernhagen would start to climb through the the field employing a strategy of diligence and patience until ultimately landing at the rear bumper of Borntreger . The red flag would fly late in the race for a front stretch incident that would see Stephen Manke make hard contact with the inside concrete barrier Manke would walk away under his own power and after a visit from Blystone Towing And Recovery we were able to battle to the finish. The final restart would see Borntreger and Bernhagen come from the Dell Prairie Auto Body Restart Zone and immediately into a side by side battle for the win.

Jesse Bernhagen would take the outside line and go around the 08 of Borntreger into the lead. Multi time Track Champion Nick Nolden would work forward into the second position but but would not quite have the pace to challenge Bernhagen as he cruised to victory.  Following the 28 to the line was Nolden, Mike Lichtfeld, *Kendrick Kreyer,and Brady BIll.
