Gaier Named NewsChannel 7 Girls Basketball Coach Of The Year

Neillsville girls basketball head coach John Gaier was named NewsChannel 7 Basketball Coach of the Year Wednesday.   

This is the second time that Gaier has won the award in his career. He guided the Warriors to a 26-3 record and a trip to the state tournament this past season.  It was Neillsville’s sixth appearance at state.  

Marshfield boys basketball head coach Chris Fischer was also named NewsChannel 7 Basketball Coach of the Year.  The Marshfield boys went undefeated in Wisconsin Valley Conference play at 12-0 which gave them their first outright conference crown in school history.
