Neillsville Booster Club's Boys Basketball Tourney Results

The Neillsville Booster Club held their annual “Youth Boys Basketball Tournament” on Sunday, February 6th with 32 area teams participating.  Fifty-one games were contested throughout the day with the following champions noted.

In the 5th grade division, first place was captured by Marshfield Columbus, with the Eau Claire Huskies second. The home town boys from Neillsville captured 3rd place by edging Rib Lake in their final contest. Members of the squad coached by Duane King and Ryan Dillenbeck included: Keagan Ormond, Bentley Erickson, Cam Dillenbeck, Kalvin Heck, Gavin Wampole, Eli Rossman, Kyson Erickson, Patrick Hausauer, Preston Bare, Jackson Schruth, Jace Pederson and Max Koepp. Winning the consolation championship was Osseo-Fairchild with Spencer, Marshfield & Loyal rounding out the bracket.

In the 6th grade portion of the tourney,  twelve teams vied for the championship with Chippewa Falls Red grabbing the gold medals and the Eau Claire Huskies picking up the silver. The Eau Claire Shamrocks defeated Prentice for third place. Marshfield Orange claimed the consolation championship as they dropped the local squad of Adam Hoeser, Zeb Schultz, Taron Stargardt, Landon Rakestraw,  Karsen Berdan, Kyle Langreck, Trevor Hart & Elijah Yurske.  Larry Hoeser & Josh Lewis coached the Neillsville boys. Rounding out the group were: Spencer, Bloomer, Chippewa Falls White, Whitehall, Greenwood & Loyal. 

In the 7th grade bracket, Altoona reigned supreme with the Eau Claire Huskies taking home the silver medals. The local team who was coached by Adam & Kat Luchterhand grabbed third place. Members of the team included; Axel Pumper, Marcus Luchterhand, Micah Ziebell,  Zion Jones, Landin Slemec, Liam King, and Braeden Mortenson. 

In the final bracket, the Marshfield White team reigned supreme as they nipped Loyal in the championship contest. Notching third place was Chippewa Falls Black with Chippewa Falls Red, Eau Claire Eagles White, Spencer, Marshfield Black and Neillsville rounding out the group. Members of the local team included: Andrew Hoeser, John Anderson,  Sebastian Hiserman, Abram Balderas, Collin Knoff, Caiden Strey, Cody Hart, and Kalen Hamm. 

The tournament, sponsored by the Booster Club was conducted with a tremendous amount of volunteer help and all proceeds are used to support youth sports at Neillsville schools.
