Level 2 of the WIAA Football Playoffs last Friday saw some big performances and some records being set as the scene shifts to Level 3 later this week.

Menasha beat Notre Dame 43-27 to advance to Level 3 of the Division 3 playoffs. The Bluejays rolled up more than 500 rushing yards in the game, most of it by senior running back Davontre Smith. He carried the ball 30 times for 403 yards with four touchdowns.

The record-setting career of Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian quarterback Robby Michael came to an end on Friday in a 46-40 loss to Denmark. In the game, Michael completed 35-of-51 passes for 386 yards with three interceptions, adding 85 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.  He has 96 passing touchdowns in his career, a new state record.  Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian's senior receiver Casey Verhagen caught a new state-record 21 passes, with 222 yards and two touchdowns. His 21 catches breaks the previous record of 20, set by Cadott's Brett McChesney in 2014 and tied by Mosinee's Drayton Lehman in 2020.

Eau Claire Regis, Durand, Colby, and Auburndale are area teams that will be playing in Level 3 playoff action this weekend.  While Gilman and Newman Catholic will square off in an 8 Player Semi-Final game at Medford on Friday night.
