Teams, Individuals Crowned State Girls Golf Champions

Team and Individual champions in two divisions were crowned at the 50th State Girls Golf Championships at University Ridge Tuesday.
Westosha Central surged ahead early in the second day of competition and never relinquished the lead, finishing with a four-player score of 637 to win the Division 1 team championship. Hamilton finished second and Middleton placed third. Riley Pechinski of Stevens Point won medalist honors at -3 with a 36-hole score of 141.
Prescott won its second consecutive Division 2 team championship, finishing with a score of 671. St. Croix Central finished second with The Prairie School finishing third. Ava Salay of Prescott won Division 2 medalist honors after placing runner-up the past two seasons. She shot -2 on Day 2 to finish +4 for the tournament with a score of 148.
