High School Football Playoff Update

With two weeks left in the season, several high school football teams have clinched a spot in the playoffs while several others still need a win to clinch a spot....

Teams that have a conference winning percentage better than .500 are guaranteed a spot in the playoffs, thus with every team in the state playing (or being credited with) seven conference games, winning four of them guarantees you a spot in the postseason.

With the number of teams playing 11-player football under 370, there are a number of teams that will finish under .500 in conference play that will make the postseason. 

Through games played in Week Seven of the high school football season, 124 teams have clinched playoff spots.  60 teams are on the Bubble with three conference wins.

75 teams can get on the Bubble with one more conference win.

Teams that have clinched a playoff spot in our area include:  Abbotsford, Assumption, Auburndale, Augusta, Colby, Edgar, Loyal, Regis, Stevens Point, Stratford and Wisconsin Rapids. 

Teams that can clinch a playoff spot with one more win include:  Altoona, Fall Creek, Marathon, Marshfield, Spencer/Columbus and Stanley-Boyd
