Top Performers From Week 1 Of High School Football

Area high school football players put up some impressive numbers during week 1 of the football season.   

Brock Bennington of Spencer/Columbus ran the ball just 11 times but gained 236 yards and scored 3 times in the Rockets’ 51-28 win over Glenwood City last Thursday.  Ty Faltesiek ran the ball 18 times for 222 yards and 3 scores as Abbotsford rushed for 571 yards as a team in their 47-12 win over Loyal on Friday.  

Evan Voss of Black River Falls had the hot hand at quarterback, completing 30 of 48 for 330 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 46 - 21 loss to Nekoosa on Friday.

Live high school football this Friday on 92.7 FM WPKG;  Neillsville/Granton at Loyal - game time is 7 pm.
