Neillsville Rec. Department Flag Football Registration Going On Now

The Neillsville Recreation Department, in cooperation with the Neillsville Youth Football Association, are now taking registration for the upcoming Fall, Saturday morning "Flag Football" program.

Play will begin on Saturday, September 11th and continue for 6 weeks. (There will be one “pre-season" practice, on Thursday, September 9th at 6:00 p.m. to go over rules/etc.) After contemplating the hazards of tackle football at a young age, and with the advice from the NHS football staff it was decided to offer "flag" football this fall for all boys and girls through 6th grade, not tackle.

Older players will make up the "Major/Big 10" league with 1st_3rd graders competing in the "Minor/Pack 10" league. (athleticism, stature & experience may be factored into which league players are assigned) Boys in grades 1-6 and girls in grades 1-7 are eligible. No previous experience is necessary.

Registration fee is $10, Early registration at the Rec. Dept. offices, 118 W. 5th St. is welcome. If you can't make it into the Rec. Dept. offices you can register your child over the phone and fill out the paperwork on the first day. Members of the NHS football team will serve as coaches, but we also would like to have a team "parent" for each individual squad. If you can help out, please let us know when you register your child.
