Neillsville And Loyal Seasons End/Sectional Results

The Neillsville and Loyal girls basketball team's seasons came to end on Thursday night in Sectional Semi-Finals...Neillsville stayed with powerhouse Melrose-Mindoro for much of the first half, trailing 17-12 at the half, but then the Mustangs showed why they have been the State runner-up the past two seasons, outscoring the Warriors 33-13 in the second half of a 50-25 win. Neillsville, who ends their season at 22-3, was led by Bella Opelt with just 6 points, all those in the first half. Emma Moseley added 5 points. Teagan Frey of Melrose-Mindoro led all scorers with 15 points.
Loyal saw their season come to an end at Eau Claire Memorial where they lost in their Division 5 Sectional Semi-Final to Clear Lake 46-29. The Greyhounds end a fine season with a record of 21-5.
