Warriors Run Over Orioles In Homecoming Win

The Neillsville/Granton Warriors used an effective running game to beat Stanley-Boyd 34-20 for a homecoming win at D.E. Peters Athletic Field on Friday night.The Warriors rushed for 363 yards as a team, led by Tommy Friemoth who had 24 carries for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Jonah Zoschke also went over the 100 yard mark with 108 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown. Quarterback Braden Trunkel had 55 yards on the ground too and a touchdown.
The Warriors had a couple of big play scores including a 29 yard scoring strike from Trunkel to Carson Mohr early in the 3rd quarter and a 50 yard TD run by Zoschke, also in the 3rd.
Stanley-Boyd did get 2 rushing touchdowns from Michael Karlen but the Orioles were effective in the passing game. Quarterback Carsen Hause finished 20 of 31 for 193 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Cooper Nichols had 9 catches for 96 yards.
Both teams saw their share of penalties. Neillsville/Granton had 10 penalties for 85 yards while the Orioles had 7 penalties for 85 yards.
