Neillsville/Granton Dominates Fall Creek In Season Opener

The Neillsville/Granton Warriors dominated the Fall Creek Crickets 41-6 in the high school football season opener on Friday night in Neillsville.

The Warriors were led on the ground by Jonah Zoschke who had 150 yards on 19 carries and 3 touchdowns. Tommy Friemoth added 114 yards rushing and 1 touchdown. Braden Trunkel was 2 for 3 for 43 yards through the air with an 11 yard scoring strike to Monte Diestler. The Warriors built a 35-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, Trunkel picked off a Fall Creek pass and returned it for a touchdown early in the 4th quarter to give Neillsville/Granton a 41-0 lead. Fall Creek got on the board late in the game on a touchdown pass from Riley Wathke to Luke Olson with 35 seconds left to make the final 41-6.

Neillsville/Granton will be on the road to Colby next Friday night at 7 pm.
