Thorp Softball Season Ends At State Semi-Final

The Thorp Cardinal girls softball team, making their 5th trip to State, saw their season come to end on Friday morning in the Division 4 State Semi-Final, losing to Horicon 7-3.The game was a rematch of last years Division 4 State Championship, which Horicon won 11-0, but this year's game was much closer.
After 2 scoreless innings, both teams scored a run in the 3rd inning and then Horicon scored a run in the 4th to take a 2-1 lead. Thorp would come back in the 5th and take a 3-2 lead on a 2 RBI single from Brittany Rosemeyer.
The lead would be short-lived however as Horicon came back with 5 runs in the top 6th to take a 4 run lead. The Marshladies held the Cardinals scoreless their next to at-bats for the win.
Thorp ends their season at 19-7 while Horicon will try to defend their D4 Title today when they take on unbeaten Mishicot in the D4 Championship.
