Neillsville's Comeback Falls Short

Down by as many as 18 points in the second half, the Neillsville boys basketball team took a lead late in their matchup with Columbus Catholic by fell short in the end 79-75.

The Dons led 47-30 at halftime and were up by as many as 18 before Neillsville got hot and Columbus Catholic went cold for a stretch that found Neillsville taking a lead late. But the Dons starting hitting their shots again late and Neillsville did not and Columbus Catholic hung on for the win.

The two teams combined to go 27-for-86 from 3-point range.

Columbus Catholic's Ethan Meece led all scorers with 25 points, Noah Taylor had 15 and Bryce Fuerlinger added 13. Neillsville was led by Braden Trunkel who scored 23 points, Hunter Hand and Alex King each had 16 and Issac Weiers added 12 for the Warriors.
