Colby Girls Clinch 2nd Straight ECC Title

The Colby girls basketball team clinched their 2nd straight Eastern Cloverbelt Conference title on Friday night with a 62-40 victory over Neillsville.The Hornets took the lead from the beginning and Neillsville was never able to overcome a very talented, veteran team. Colby led at the half 31-18 with Hailey Voelker leading the way with 10 points.
Colby picked up where they left off in the second half quickly getting out to a 20 point lead and never looking back. Ashley Streveler had the hot hand for the Hornets in the second half, scoring 13 of her 15 points, including three 3-pointers. Alyssa Underwood led all scorers with 17 points, Voelker added 14 for the Hornets. Ali Schoengarth led Neillsville with 10 points.
Colby improves to 16-0 overall and 12-0 in the ECC. Neillsville falls to 13-3 overall and 9-3 in the conference.
