Warriors Handle Hawks In ECC Boys Basketball

The Neillsville Warrior boys basketball team jumped out to a big early lead and beat the Owen-Withee Blackhawks 76-53 in Eastern Cloverbelt Conference boys basketball on Friday night.The Warriors got out to a 42-18 halftime lead, led by Alex King with 11 points. Owen-Withee outscored Neillsville 35-34 in the second half but it wasn't enough.
Neillsville had 5 players in double figures, led by King with 21 points. Monte Dietsler had 13, Joe Katcher 12, Issac Weiers 11 and Hunter Hand had 10 points. Tyler Weaver led Owen-Withee with 14 points and Kevin Kitlica added 12.
Neillsville improved to 10-3 overall and 8-1 in the ECC. Owen-Withee fell to 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the ECC.
