Jonah Hinker was 2 for 3 including a 2 run homer, he finished with 4 RBI's. His brother, Xander was 1 for 3 with 3 runs scored. Sully Whitford also had a couple of hits. Sully Whitford got the start in the Final and did not allow a hit until the 3rd inning. In fact, Edgar only had 4 baserunners in 4 innings. Greenwood would score two more runs in the top of the 6th to make it a 6-0 game before Edgar rallied in the bottom of the inning with 3 runs on 3 hits including a 2 RBI single from Kaden Goodwin. Greenwood would get another run in the top of the 7th to give them a 4 run lead heading into the bottom of the 7th. Edgar would get a lead off walk in the 7th only to have that erased on a double play. Xander Hinker fielded a ground ball near second, stepped on the bag and fired to first to get Drew Guden and just like that there were two outs. Westin Schmitz, who came on in relief of Whitford in the 6th, hit the next two batters but then a line drive right to Hinker at short ended the game and Greenwood won the Sectional Title 7-3.
Greenwood (17-6) now makes their 6th trip to State, first since back to back trips in 2012 and 2013. Edgar was looking to make their first trip to State.
